lucky place setting

I pulled together a vintage-inspired St. Patrick’s Day themed place setting.  I love a little bit of gold sparkle mixed in with a little bit of pale kelly green. It’s so fresh for spring too! Scrabble tiles are always a fun accent.

After testing out Trader Joe’s corned beef and mixing in a little cabbage last week, I wanted to have a table setting ready for March 17th, when we celebrate a fun day of Irish culture.  Have you tried it?

It’s amazing! I am also stocking up on Trader Joe’s Irish soda bread, which they call “The Blarney Scone”, which is pretty yummy, especially sliced, toasted and buttered!

Here are other some shamrock
goodies that caught my attention.

ciao from Croatia

Look what arrived for me today all the way from Croatia with love! A fun custom ‪‎ciao sign made by Dilemma Posters.  I mounted the sign on this rustic board I had, and it fit perfectly!  Along with these 3D cutouts, Dilemma make really fun graphic posters that they design themselves.

Dil and Emma established Dilemma Posters (cute play on their names!) and focused on inspirational & motivational posters, most of which are handwritten.  Dil is the graphic designer standing behind this project, and Emma is the Boss. Of course, Emma also writes all the texts and materials for the brand.  The posters come unframed, so they're so affordable!  Check out some of my other favorites from Dilemma.

book review: patina farm

I'm a huge fan of Brooke Giannetti’s design work and her blog “Velvet & Linen”, so I was honored to receive a copy of her new book “Patina Farm” to review.

This gorgeous book is a collaborative effort between Brooke and her talented husband, Steve. Brooke’s personal account and Steve’s whimsical sketches provide an inspiring story of the construction and design of their home Patina Farm in Ojai, California.

Throughout the book, they share 150 extraordinary photographs that are so detailed and beautiful, that you feel as though you are invited right into their home.  Brooke and Steve spent years planning their home that was mainly inspired by travels both domestic and abroad, particularly in Belgium and France.

On their travels, they chose antique materials like Terra Cotta roof tiles, rustic fountains, reclaimed barn beams and other architectural elements that bring the warmth and texture and compliment the new white plaster walls, clean glass and steel elements that they envisioned as a backdrop for their treasure trove of collected artifacts.

They stuck to a natural palette that works nicely with the indoor - outdoor lifestyle that connects the interiors with the lush landscape. The outdoor spaces are just as amazing as the interior ones. Flowing white roses, fragrant lavender and shady sycamores dominate the landscape.

The Giannettis created Patina Farm as a casual and comfortable home for their whole family, which also includes a collection of pets perfect for this European-inspired farmhouse! African Pygmy goats, miniature Sicilian donkeys and hens add a dreamy timeless quality to this property.

These are some of my favorite images from this book, but are only a few of the gorgeous pictures that encompass Patina Farm

Patina Farm is now available on Amazon and you can visit Brooke at her blog Velvet & Linen for all the latest!

💕

While I’m here today, I wanted to share some of my "Tablescaping Essentials" with you. I have a whole page on the Amazon website with my favorite picks for setting a beautiful table.

Quite often time is of the essence, and I have last minute projects or events to work on, so I turn to Amazon for one or two day delivery. You’d be surprised at how many amazing items they have to offer! And I'm constantly updating this page with my new favorites.

You can check it out here, at Tablescaping Essentials.

spring favorites from Stella & Dot

Stella and Dot's new Spring items are soooo fun, and thank you to my favorite stylist Cynthia for pointing me in the right direction!  These gorgeous accessories are my Spring Essentials.  I adore the entire Alila Collection, but especially this cuff bracelet. Designed around Dot's extensive lace collection these pieces add a feminine twist to the bohemian trend.
The Getaway Bag finally is now available in black! It's the ultimate travel bag and fits perfectly under the airplane seat, but also expands to fit extra purchases. I love it as a striped bag, but when it expands, you get a fun little pop of pattern.
The Marlin Earrings are available in both gold and silver and are the delicate earrings you never knew you needed but can't live without. Chic and modern!
The Arc Pendant is an affordable way to approach current trends without breaking the bank. It is the perfect start to a trendy layered look.
The Gilded Path Double Wrap screams So Cal style.
I have barely taken this off since I got mine!
These two turquoise pieces are the perfect way to add a little bit of my favorite color into the mix. The Turquoise Stone Cuff and the Turquoise Stacked Ring mix and match perfectly with so many of the accessories I already have! They are my go-to baubles when I need a little boost to my look!

good morning

It’s a rainy morning here in Newport Beach, but the brightness of the day is just enough motivation, in addition to my coffee, to get going this morning!  And a few pretty things always boost an otherwise gloomy day!

I'm thankful for the much needed rain here in So Cal, and I know my garden is happy. Check out some of our latest additions to the Blog Shop, if you desire.  Have a lovely day!

marisa tomei's manhattan apartment

A little peek at Marisa Tomei’s
Greenwich Village apartment from this month’s Elle Décor.

Marisa’s love of old Hollywood-style glamour
is evident in the decor of her living room.

The other side of her living room features a pair
of mid-century Brazilian rosewood chairs that
anchor the otherwise light colored space.

I love her style!

Gorgeous!

a cheery Christopher Hyland fabric.

What do you think of the dark plum walls?
